The horror movie plot that I have decided to go with is: A group of teenagers are stalked and tortured/killed by a masked man without any clear reason why. They find out in the end that, as very young children, they used to bully the man – and he has waited for revenge for years, becoming insane.
At the end, only one of the characters is to survive, killing off the villain. Following the conventions of a slasher, the person will be a young woman who is a virgin.
For most of the movie, the villains face will not be shown to add the “fear of the unknown” factor. And when the killers face is revealed, he is going to have a hideous scar across his face to add the shock factor.
Although casting will be important, the plot line is more important according to the survey. I shall make sure the story is clear and, by adding in that the killer knew the victims when they were young adds a twist.
People find children very creepy in horror films, so adding in a flash back, or a reference to the villain as a child will make the movie all the more scary.
The victims in my horror film are going to be rounded up and picked off one by one. This is creepy because you do not know until the very end why this is happening, or who is going next.
Finally, the killers’ weapon of choice is a pair of scissors – to add to the idea that he hasn’t let go of his childhood.
